Ivan Richard "Dick" Harvey was born on March 20, 1922 in Hindsboro, Illinois, the son of Cecil M. and A. Lucille Magruder Harvey. He was educated in the Hindsboro school system, graduating from Hindsboro High School in 1942. From 1943 to 1945 Dick was in the United States Army, where he served overseas in the Battle of the Bulge. On September 13, 1947 he married Charlotte Duzan in Decatur, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of Charleston; four daughters, Linda Lutz and husband Dale of St. Paul, Minnesota, Diane Beaty and husband Steve of Hindsboro, Gayle Sue Harvey of Charleston, and Jacky Madden and husband John of Atwood;en, Gary Harvey and wife Marcella of Oakland; eight grandchilden; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister Charlene Stephens of Brighton, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Gayle Harvey.
Dick was a farmer and livestock producer, and had also worked at USI in Tuscola for over 29 years. He was a member of the Hindsboro United Methodist Church, the Oakland VFW, and had been a member of the Hindsboro American Legion for over 62 y. Dick was very community minded and assisted as a 4-H leader and as Chairman of the Oakland Cornbread and Bean Festival.Ivan married Charlotte Mae Duzan on 13 Sep 1947 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, USA.
