    Sir Valentine Browne acquired the manor of Totteridge, in Hertfordshire. He was Treasurer of Berwick, and then Lord Auditor of Ireland for Queen Elizabeth I. As such he acquired further property in County Kerry, where his descendants lived. He was also Sheriff of Lincolnshire.
