Obituary from the The Indianapolis Star, August 23, 2003: Dorothea L. MacGruder, 81, Coatesville, died Aug. 20, 2003. She was born May 4, 1922. She was the daughter of Cleo and Lois (Byrum) Brown. On April 24, 1947 she married Jesse Stanton MacGruder, he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1982. She was a retired beautician and home interiors representative. Survivors include son Dennis MacGruder and wife Alice of Coatesville daughter Cheryl Napolitano of Biddeford, ME brother David Brown of Plainfield four grandchildren several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister Rosemary Smiley. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 7 p.m. in Northview Christian Church, 623 N. State Road 39, Danville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent's Hospice, 8450 N. Payne Rd., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46268 or the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., Suite B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46209. Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Indiana.
Dorothea married Jesse Stanton MacGruder on 24 Apr 1947. Jesse (son of Robert Jay McGruder and Jessie Helen M. Royce) was born on 18 May 1912 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA; died on 22 Dec 1982 in Florida, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
