Notes - There is a Lydia Baldwin listed in the records of Salt Creek Baptist Church, Muskingum County, Ohio, as having been baptized on 3 July 1813. In 1846, David and Lydia Thomas brought suit against the other heirs of her father, Samuel Baldwin, demanding partition of the estate. They sold their share to Lydia's brother, James Baldwin, in 1847. In the 1860 census of Perry Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, the four children are shown living together with an older woman, Pheabean Ray, next to John's guardian, Richard Atkinson.
