    Notes:

    At the time of her marriage, Margaret Nolan was living at 111 South Street, Perth. At the time of the 1901 census, the Charles York family was living at 142 South Street, Perth. Charles sailed from Glasgow on the Sicilian on 29 July 1905, arriving in Québec, Canada, on 7 August 1905. He later entered the United States at St. Albans, Vermont. On the passenger list, he stated that his destination was the home of George Thomson in Cleveland, Ohio. His wife, Margaret, and daughter, Jessie, arrived in the United States on 22 July 1906 on the S.S. Caledonia. Their destination was Cleveland, Ohio, where they were to join Charles at 29 Carrie Avenue. On 24 August 1931, Margaret York arrived back in Scotland on board the S.S. Caledonia. It is not known if she had remained in the United States continuously since her arrival in 1906. However, at the time of the 1910 census, she was living with the Willis Dille family in East Cleveland, and described as their maid; at the time of the 1930 census, she was living in the home of Arthur and Laura Care on Hathaway Avenue in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and her occupation was given as "servant". At the time of her death Margaret Nolan York was living at 6 St. Paul's Square, Perth. In the 1910 census, her marital status was divorced, but in the 1930 census and in her death record, she is described as a widow.

    Emigration:
    It is not known whether Margaret Nolan York was emigrating or just visiting in 1906. The ship was the S.S. Caledonia, sailing from Glasgow, Scotland, on 14 July 1906 and arriving in New York on 22 July.

    Margaret married Charles York on 2 Jul 1898 in St. John the Baptist's Catholic Church, 20 Melville Street, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, and was divorced in cir 1910.     Notes:

    In their marriage record, Francis' and Catherine's last names were both spelled Noland. The witnesses on the marriage register were Patt Kielly (Kelly?) and Biddy Noland, probably Catherine's sister Bridget. They probably paid 14 shillings to be married. Francis and Catherine Nolan left Ireland for Scotland sometime between 1844 and 1847. In 1861, the family was living at 170 Shuttlefield Close, Perth, and Francis was described as an agricultural laborer. In 1871, the family was living at 103 South Street in Perth. Francis' age was listed as 54. Francis became a member of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Family at his church, St. John the Baptist, Perth, on 29 July 1877. At the time of the 1881 census, the family was living at New Building, Scott Street, Perth West Church, Perth, Scotland. Francis was listed as an unemployed laborer. In addition to Francis and Catherine, others living at the address included their son, Joseph (mason's laborer), daughter Mary (mill worker), daughter Margaret (mill worker), and daughter Catherine (mill worker). They had one boarder, Mary Ann Michell, a mill worker, aged 24, born in Dundee. In 1891, they were living at 111 South Street, Perth, and Francis was described as a retired salesman. In his death record, Francis was described as a laborer, and in his wife's death record as a coal salesman. In the death record of his daughter, Margaret Nolan York, he is described as a "drainer."

    Westport, Ireland, is in the Civil Parish of Oughaval, barony of Murrisk, and the Poor Law Union is also Westport.
