  1. 1.  Jane Bryson was born on 4 Mar 1801 in South Carolina, USA (daughter of Daniel H. Bryson and Jenny ?); died on 28 Apr 1870.

    Notes:

There is no evidence that Daniel Sr. is the father of Jane. Daniel's family records are incomplete. Sources report, however, that Jane was born in Pendleton District, South Carolina, in 1801, and only Daniel and his brother John were listed in the 1800 census for that district. By 1810, Daniel shows two females under 10 in his household, and John has none. One of Daniel's sons, Daniel Jr., moved to Habersham County, Georgia, about 1820. Jane was married in Habersham County, Georgia, in 1824 to Jesse Sanford.

Jane married Jesse Sanford on 6 Jan 1824 in Habersham County, Georgia, USA. Jesse (son of James Sanford and unknown) was born on 22 Mar 1794 in South Carolina, USA; died on 6 May 1873 in Hardin County, Tennessee, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

All the sons of William and Isabella Holmes Bryson were reputed to have served during the Revolutionary War, and were said to be at the battles of Kings Mountain and Cowpens. Daniel made several applications for pension, and apparently received one for awhile. After his death, his widow also made application in 1853 based on his service. Daniel was commissioned in the South Carolina militia during the War of 1812 while living in Pendleton District. William Irvin was deposed in Macon County, North Carolina, in 1834 and stated that he was with Daniel Bryson at the Battle of Ramsours Mill. Daniel was listed on the 1840 census on the Pensioners list (in Macon County, North Carolina). He moved to the Sugar Fork community of Macon County, North Carolina, prior to 1840.
