  Notes	In the 1901 census, Alexander's occupation was recorded as a "railway engine slotter." The occupation listed on his (first) marriage license was "railway stoker," and he was living at 55 Milnbank Road, Dundee. He and Grace Ogilvie McIntosh were married in the United Free Church. At the birth of his son, Alexander, in 1906, his occupation was "marine stoker," and at the time of his son Thomas' birth, his occupation was listed as "stoker in oil work." In September 1907, Alexander entered the United States from Canada at Port Huron, Michigan. He stated that his last place of residence was Sarnia, Ontario, and that his destination was Detroit, Michigan. He stated that his occupation was locomotive fireman and that his wife resided at 41 Benvie Road, Dundee, Scotland. Alexander Duff was boarding in the home of August Schande in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at the time of the 1910 census (E.D. 141, visit 432, page 41). His age in the census was given as 30, and his two children were living there as well - Alex Duff, Jr. (age 3 - born in Scotland) and Thomas Duff (age 2 - born in Scotland). Alexander was listed as an electrician for a railroad. Alexander began using MacIntosh as a surname sometime before 1918. He served in the Engineer Corps of the Canadian army during World War I. After the war, he traveled with a Scottish-Canadian soccer team, during which time he met his third wife in Denver, Colorado. After their marriage, they lived in California, and then moved to Linden, New Jersey, where Alexander worked for a clothing manufacturer. After his retirement, he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.
