Nemours - cir 1670
Page 96 of 5MI5210
Notes on translation: Anne-Michelle Martin baptism "Sunday … ? February was baptized Anne-Michelle, daughter of Jean Martin [maybe "locksmith," starts with "s"] and Michelle Coupé … this morning at 10 o'clock, the godfather is Sieur Miguel [looks clear, though not a French name] secretary-ordinary of the chamber of the king, director-general of customs [looks like 'douane'] of the [?] of the [?] of Paris [seems to be a quite lengthy title] and the godmother Anne Gaudion, wife of Monsieur [another name and title] … councilor of the king, and lieutenant of… [signed by Anne Gaudion]

Note on Anne Gaudion: From Dictionnaire historique et généalogique des familles du Poitou. Translation:
"Bonamy (Joseph), knight, seigneur de Meures [maybe the name that looks like 'Miguel' above], qualified by acts of 24 November 1654 and 8 May 1658, ordinary gentleman of the king's chamber and receiver of the "elect. du Blanc", had as wife Anne Gaudion…" and then the children are named.

The Martins evidently knew this prominent noble family at Fontainebleau Palace, ten miles north of Nemours; perhaps one or more generations of the family worked there as locksmiths.
