  Notes	Moses McKenzie was a Revolutionary War veteran. He enlisted as a drummer at age 18 in Lt. Col. Ludwig Weltner's German Battalion at Frederick Town, and was discharged at Annapolis. He served in the Battle of White Plains (1776), the Battle of Monmouth, and the siege of Yorktown. He received a Federal Land Warrant (Warrant Number 11514) on 8 April 1793, for 100 acres of land. He enlisted on 28 April 1778, and was enrolled at White Plains on 5 September 1778. His brother Joshua also served as a drummer in the same battalion. Moses was paid for service for the months of July, August, September, and October 1779. He also served in Lt. Col. Weltner's battalion from 1 August 1780 until 15 November 1783. Joshua and Moses were both privates. Moses later served as a drummer in the War of 1812, in Captain Blair's Company, along with Thomas Clinton, a fifer. They had served together during the Revolution. They lived in the Cumberland, Maryland, area, and often played fife and drum for community events. Moses was granted a pension in 1815 for his Revolutionary War services, and his widow, Sarah, was granted a pension on 9 March 1827, for his services.
