  Notes	Nathaniel Beall Magruder was a private in the Maryland Line during the American Revolution. He enlisted in Rawlings Regiment in November 1776. He was taken prisoner at the capture of Fort Washington on 16 November 1776. He rejoined the regiment at Fort Frederick, at which time Colonel Rawlings told him that if he would enlist 20 men for the regiment, he would recommend Nathaniel for a commission. He enlisted 25 men in November 1778, at which time Captain Thomas Beall, who was commanding the regiment at the time, went to Philadelphia and spoke to the Board of War about Nathaniel. He was granted an ensign's commission. [1]
