- Noah Meredith participated in the Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery. He received land in Cherokee, now Walker, County, the 3rd section of the 27th district, previous to 1838, probably moving there in 1837. At the time of the lottery, he was living in Walton County, Georgia, but according to his obituary, he moved to Walker County in 1837. Noah was the Walker County Tax Collector in 1844, and he was the first mail carrier from Cedar Grove to Chattanooga. The family was living in Walker County, Georgia, at the time of the 1850 census, and at Cedar Grove, Walker County, Georgia, at the time of the 1880 census. In 1893, he was living at McLemore Cove, Walker County, Georgia. He was a Mason of the A.I. Leet Lodge No. 266, F. & A.M.
