He fought at Quatre Bas and also under Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, when he was awarded a medal. Around 1837, he emigrated to Ontario where he was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 10th Battalion, York Militia, Canada West, receiving his commission on 10 November 1846. He held an earlier commission as Lieutenant-Colonel (24 January 1838) under the earlier organization of the militia. | |||
