Know all men by these presents that I Abraham Romine of Muskingum County Ohio in consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by Isaac Jones of Highland County in the same State before the unsealing hereof have granted bargained and sold and hereby do grant bargain and sell unto said Jones a certain tract of one hundred acres of land more or less being part of the 4th quarter of the 1st township 7th range of the United States Military land in Muskingum County aforesaid which tract was by Indenture bearing equal date with these presents conveyed to the same Abraham Romine by Joseph Evans as by Reference to the said Indenture will fully appear together with the Courses and Distances at large to have and to hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances to him the said Isaac Jones his heirs & assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever. The conditions of this deed are such that if the said Abraham Romine pay the said Jones for all manner of trouble or expense in consequence of Jones having signed [five?] several bonds bills or notes of fifty dollars each payable to Peter Romine at different times then this deed to be null and void otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.  In witness whereof the said Abraham hath hereunto set his hand & seal the [ninth?] of March one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.
