Nemours, 1737
Page 197 of 5MI5207
Comments on translation: "The nineteenth of October 1737 [several unreadable words, one is maybe 'parish', one is 'Souligné,' probably 'undersigned', not the priest's name] was baptized Jean, legitimate son of Jacques Martin, master locksmith of this town, and of Claire Landry, born in this town, the godfather was Jean D[hard to read; something like Denchaumon] [two words which may be his profession], of this town; godmother Geneviève Robillard [probably a cousin of Claire], who have signed with me." The signatures are "J D..." [illegible] and Geneviève Robillard; her signature is clear; and the priest, also hard to read but followed by "vic," that is, vicaire.
