ON WAY TO LOCAL PHYSICIAN'S BEDSIDE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was Prominent Doctor In Stevens Point, Wisconsin, 25 Years
On the way to the bedside of his father who is in a critical condition at his home here, Dr. E. H. Rogers and son Charles of Stevens Point, Wis., plunged to their death over a 20-foot embankment near River Falls, Wis., at 5 o'clock Monday mornig. The veteran Farmington physician has not been informed of the news of his son's death, due to his serious condition.
Only meager details concerning the fatal accident were received here up to today. One report was that the car plunged through the guard rail of a bridge, but the facts will not be learned until tonight when Mr. And Mrs. S. C. Whitcher are expeted to return from the funeral services, which are being held at Stevens Point this afternoon.
Dr. E. H. Rogers was born in Oronoco, Olmsted county, Minn., August 10, 1866. He resided in Lake City and Zumbro Falls. His first wife was Emma Dierks, one son Harvey being born to them. Some years following her death he was married to Laua Fiske and they made their home at Stevens Point. To this union two children were born, George who just entered West Point, and a daughter Elizabeth of Stevens Point, and Chas, age 18, who was killed Monday. He was a brother of Mrs. A. B. Boyce of Farmington, and Mrs. L. R. Wilson and Miss Mabel Rogers of Oak Park, Ill., who were called to Farmington last week.
