- Obituary:
Roberta Jane Stanforth, 84, of New Holland, Ohio died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Stanforth was born April 12, 1927 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ortha Berthum and Jessie Britton Patterson and was a 1945 graduate of New Holland High School. She lived ten years in Logan, Ohio but spent most of her life in the Washington C.H. and New Holland communities.
Before her retirement, she was the longtime officer manager for J.H. Persinger, M.D.
She was a member of the New Holland United Methodist Church where she formerly was a Sunday school teacher; the United Methodist Women; New Holland Lions Club and for many years was an EMT with the Fayette County Life Squad. She had been an avid bowler and softball player.
Mrs. Stanforth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene "Gene" Stanforth on August 13, 1977; her parents and a great niece, Tina McCoy.
She is survived by three nieces, Donna Myers of St. Petersburg, FL, Beverly Boswell and her husband, David, and Vicky Conley, all of Washington C.H.; several grand and great grand nieces and nephews and special friends, Rhonda and Deanna Hecoax of New Holland.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Dr. Michael R. Thompson, pastor at the New Holland United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
