    William Francis is said to have been present at the surrender of General Cornwallis at Yorktown on 28 September 1781. He served as a private under Captain John McGuire in Grayson's Virginia Regiment.

Peter and Abigail Romine donated the land for Katoctin Baptist Church in Loudoun County, Virginia.
