    LAVOIE, RITA A. (BENOIT), 88, of Richmond, formerly of Warwick, died July 16, 2012 at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Lavoie and a daughter of the late Edgar and Maude (Guay) Benoit. She is survived by her son, Leo R. Lavoie and his wife, Linda and her grandson, Eric J. Lavoie. She was the sister of the late Irene Sweetman of Cumberland. Mrs. Lavoie was an employee of Leviton Mfg. and Northern Telecom before retiring. Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 23, from 4-7 pm followed by a service at 7 pm at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be private at the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. At the time of the 1920 census, Mary Guay was living on Diamond Street, Providence, Rhode Island, with her children Edward, David, Maud, and Louis, and two boarders. In 1930, she was living with her daughter Maude and son-in-law Edgar Benoit, at 119 Sprague Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
