He was Attorney-General for Ireland (1720-1727), Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench, Ireland (1727-1741), M.P. for Granard (1713-1714), M.P. for the City of Dublin (1715-1727), and Privy Councillor for Ireland (1727).
