    • James and Charlotte Baldwin Russell were married by Dr. Francis Silver, who later served as the administrator of the estate of Charlotte's father, Samuel. Charlotte Baldwin Russell was received by letter at the Salt Creek Baptist Church in Muskingum County, Ohio, on 3 September 1840. She is also recorded as becoming a member by letter at the same church on 3 September 1842. She was "excluded" by the church on 2 December 1848. She may also be the Mrs. Russell who was baptized by the church on 2 October 1831 and dismissed on 2 August 1834. In 1880, she was living in Washington Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, with John and Matilda Mitchlett. In the 1900 census of Perry Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, Charlotte's son, Samuel, gave her birthplace as Virginia.

      Charlotte's age given on her tombstone is 78 years, giving an approximate birth year of 1805, since the death date on the stone is October 1883. However, her pension record states that she died on 14 November 1884, so if she was 78 years old, she was born in 1806 or 1807. Her death record states that she was 79, which would indicate a birth year of 1805 or 1806.
