- William Redpath, Jr., was part Choctaw Indian on his mother's side. After finishing high school, he served in World War I. Later, he was the owner of the Union Iron Works (established in 1897). He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Rotary Club, and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
