Wyoming, Ohio Schools 1937-1941; speech and history teacher in Hamilton, Ohio 1941-1950, Continuing Education Department, Michigan State University 1950-1956; Specialist in general Adult Education, U.S. Office of Education, 1956-1958; Director of Graduate School for the U.S.D.A., 1958-1981; President of Beacon College, Washington, DC, 1982-1983; Chairman of World Federalist Washington Chapter, 1958-1960. Avid tennis player, member of Edgemoor Club. Firm believer in life-long learning. Survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Jennings and three children; John Bernard Holden, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Peggy Thuotte of Port Ludlow, WA, and Charles Holden of Fairfax, VA; his sister, Martha Jane Bail of Lima, OH; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
